c6ex Honing Tools — Single-Pass & Multi-Stroke Bore Finishing, Plus Aftermarket Stones
Honing is the operation that finalizes a bore — geometry (roundness, cylindricity, taper), surface finish, and the cross-hatch that holds oil and seats rings. Done right, it directly governs ring seal, oil consumption, and component life. c6ex supplies the tooling, in two tiers quoted separately.
Tier 1 — Custom honing tools (by drawing). Single-pass and multi-stroke honing tools for engine cylinder bores, connecting-rod small ends, crankshaft and gear bores, piston bores, turbocharger housings, and brake and fuel-injection bores; and beyond automotive — hydraulic valve sleeves, valve bodies, pumps and motor housings, firearm barrels, and aerospace bearings. Sized to your diameter, tolerance, and finish spec; diamond or CBN electroplated. Benchmark: Engis-style single-pass bore honing (c6ex supplies the tool, not the machine).
Tier 2 — Aftermarket honing stones (stock range). Standard grits in machine-compatible forms (Sunnen AN/CK/CV series) for engine rebuilding and maintenance shops. Benchmark: Goodson / Sunnen-compatible stones. The current catalog leads with Tier 2 stones; single-pass custom tools are quoted per drawing.
c6ex does tools, not machines. We do not build honing machines, automation, or contract-honing lines; our value is the tooling plus application selection — we help size abrasive, grit, and tool form to your bore, and can validate on our lab machining center. Send your bore spec (diameter, tolerance, finish, material, volume) and we engineer the tool.
